Rainy Days, Camping, and a Roller Coaster

Last week we had two days of pretty hard rain storms. Rob was on the patio BBQing and it started raining incredibly hard. Evan was out on the grass playing with a neighbor friend when it started to rain and he just froze. The rain was coming down so hard. I ran out to get Evan since he acted like he couldn't move and brought him to the covered patio. In a matter of less then 30 seconds, Evan was soaked! He stood on the patio and watched the rain. He would throw his ball into the puddles and retrieve it. Evan had a blast playing in the rain!

Friday night we went on a church camp-out. It was pretty koosh camping - air mattresses (there was even an electrical outlet at the campsite!), outhouses, pavillion with picnic tables, and good food. Rob and I had a great time getting to know some people in our ward. Evan had the most fun though - running through trees, playing with sticks, jumping on air mattresses, numerous other children to play with, sleeping in a tent with his friend Olivia (she is the girl in the picture with Evan). Evan and Olivia were so cute when they woke up in the morning. They saw each other and were so excited they both started squealing! Then of course Evan and Olivia started jumping on the air mattresses. All in all, the camping trip was a huge success!

Saturday night we took a trip to Mall of America where Evan always gets so excited when he sees the rides. His favorite ride up until this trip was the "Truckin" ride. Evan rides in a truck that goes along a track in a circle and he can honk a horn and play with a steering wheel. He first went on that ride and like usual Evan enjoyed it. Then Rob decided to take him on the little kid roller coaster call "Lil' Shaver", which Evan had never been on before. I thought it may be a little too grown-up for Evan. I really didn't think he would like it. But I was very surprised to watch him squeeling with joy! I guess Evan has a new favorite ride!!

Evan spent the night in a tent with a girl? That's quite the ward camp-out =)

Love the blog, esp. the "Friends" reference. Sounds like a very fun summer. We miss you!
