Who's 31?

Yes, it is true - Rob turned 31 on Thursday!! He has always looked young, but with his braces on he looks even younger. He could probably pass for 20 or so! Happy 31st Birthday Rob!!
Rob had a great birthday and this wasn't because of some wonderful thing I planned. I truthfully didn't have to do much.
We'll just call this birthday his golf birthday. Rob received a golf bag, golf balls, and played 18-holes of golf with some of his classmates. So pretty much all I had to do was agree to let Rob go golfing and then we had some pie when he came home. Pretty simple, just they way we like it!!
Evan was so excited to give Rob his gift. He dragged it around the house most of the day by it's ribbons. When Evan handed it to Rob he said, "Open it, golf balls.". So it wasn't much of a surprise for Rob!!

Evan was so excited to sing Happy Birthday to Rob. He had been practicing all day! Evan was also very excited to help blow out Rob's candles. We actually did it twice because it was so much fun!

This was the first birthday that Evan really understood what happens on a birthday - presents, cake/pie, candles, sing, etc. It was really cute.

Friday night we

went to The Tin Fish for Rob's birthday dinner. We love that place but had to wait in line for 45 minutes just to order then wait another 25 minutes for our food. Though the food was so good that we forgot about the long wait. Rob had the fish and chips (best fish and chips out there!!) and I had the salmon taco and of course Evan had a hot dog!

Evan enjoyed playing along the shoreline of Lake Calhoun with Rob while I waited in line. We were hoping to go on a paddle boat, but by the time we finished eating it was too late. We'll have to do it another day. It was a gorgeous night and felt like we were at some exotic location with the beautiful sunset, lake, beach, sailboats, and eating on a patio overlooking it all. Yet we only had to drive 5 minutes to be in paradise. What a perfect night!
