4 Weeks After Surgery...Looking Good!

...And you all thought Rob was so busy at school and work that he has no time to play. Well Rob does find time to play. It may not be the kind of "play" Rob is wishing for, aka golf, but Rob does thoroughly enjoy playing with Evan. This consists of building train tracks, playing trains, building with Lego's, chasing Evan, hide & seek with Evan running out of his hiding place squealing before Rob has a chance to find him, doing tricks up in the air, and the newest "Rollie, Pollie Hot Dog". This latest is a Rob signature creation. Rob rolls Evan up really tight in a blanket, rolls him from side to side then pulls one end of the blanket and Evan rolls really fast out of the blanket. Next time you see Rob ask for a demonstration. It is a true art! I tried it tonight and just couldn't do it as good as Rob.It is officially 4 weeks since Rob's jaw surgery. Things are going well. Nothing really new to report. The swelling continues to decrease and the bruising is gone. Rob has no pain except when his sutures rub on the inside of his cheek. He asked me last night to take his sutures out for him. Yes, I am a nurse. No, I don't want to be messing up a very expensive mouth! Rob is still having tingling in his chin at times but it continues to be numb.So what does everyone think of the "new & improved" Rob? Do you notice a difference (I know it is kind of hard to tell from a picture)? Was it worth all of his pain, suffering, and still not being able to chew? Oh, that's right, I forget all of this was for his bite, not for his vanity!! If you saw Rob and didn't know he had jaw surgery would you say something to him about something looking different? I would love to hear what you think. I am not going to write what I think because I don't want to influence your opinion since I am his wife and see him everyday.
Here is a picture of Rob back in July before the surgery. I tried to find a close up but this is the best I could do.

I went back and looked at past pictures of Rob, although there weren't any that were as close up of just him...I think his jaw is more square now.. Still looks like Rob :) I don't think I could have done it, but I like the improvement! Glad to hear things are still going well and no set back. Hope the tingling continues. I can't imagine being numb for that long.

I need to see a before picture. Maybe I should go get some high school pictures out to compare. Nah, bad idea, then he'll just look 13 years older plus having had jaw surgery. Just kidding. Rob doesn't look a day older than 16. I think his jaw looks a little different. Can't put my finger on it though. Glad he's doing well! Glad you're an RN too. How convenient!

That depends... Does he look better like this... Or like THIS?? Hehe, just kidding, Rob!

Jason says he can definitely see a difference and probably would have noticed. We both think he looks great!
