Rob's Recovery

Today is day 4 after Rob's surgery. It has definitely been the best day so far. The swelling started to decrease today and Rob hasn't been as nauseous. His pain is also lessening. Though Rob continues to be weak and tired, which should be expected after surgery. Rob has been a good sport about the no chewing for 6 weeks. And luckily we have thought of different foods for him to eat so that he isn't eating the same thing everyday. But all in all things are improving and hopefully he will be ready to go back to school this coming Friday. I have been trying to take Evan out of the house for several hours each day so Rob can get some rest and have some peace & quiet. Yesterday we went to Como Zoo with some friends. We had only been to this zoo one other time and I don't know why we don't go more often. It is an older, smaller zoo, but nice for young kids. Evan was so excited to see the lions and thought it was his responsibility to wake them up from their nap and tell them that the sun was awake so they should be awake also! The zoo has a sea lion, Sparky, who puts on a show twice a day and it is always a hit. After we got home Evan has asking where Sparky was. Evan gave Rob a play-by-play of the Sparky show. It was as if Rob were there!
