Evan's Apple Work of Art
Two weeks ago Evan and I started an ECFE(Early Childhood and Family Education) class. It is pretty much a mommy/daddy and me type of class where you accompany your child to class, play & do crafts for 30 minutes and then split off and the parents have a discussion while the children remain in the classroom with 2 teachers. You can refer to my post last year if you want to know more about ECFE. It is especially nice to have this 2 hour period once a week to look forward to when the weather gets frigid. Last week Evan made this apple creation work of art. The teacher had cut an apple's top off horizontally and then stuck a stick through it vertically. Then the kids dipped the apple top in paint and blotted the apple on their paper. It was such a cute idea and the kids loved it! Even Evan, who is not a "crafty kind of guy", enjoyed doing it.
Evan also started swimming lessons two weeks ago. Today was his third lesson and he is really enjoying it. I have to be in the water with him which is fine now but here in a few weeks may be interesting. The lessons end the week after I am due. They are just 30 minute lessons once a week. But once again, when the weather makes it so we can't play outside, it is nice to have something to look forward to. Plus Evan seems to get a lot of energy out during his lessons. My goal for the lessons is to get Evan to the point where he doesn't freak out when he gets water in his eyes. Evan loves being in the water but hates when it gets in his eyes. He starts to scream, "Wipe the eyes!" or "Get the towel!" whenever water comes in contact with his eyes. We have 7 more swim lessons to accomplish this goal! We'll see how we do!

We're just sitting here in beautiful San Diego and got all caught up on the last few posts... Evan you are so cute and we can't wait 'til the next time we see you.
Now when Tay says "nose running, get tissue" it reminds me of Evan's "wipe the eyes"- can't get over it!
Good to see you're up to loads of fun. We miss you guys. Love you.
India still asks for the towel. I just tell her it's like practicing going underwater in the pool. She seems to be ok with the water in the eyes after that.

He's an artist too? isn't swimming nice on the belly bulge?
I'm thinking goggles?? We love "wipe the eyes" though, he is so cute!
