Perfect Saturday Afternoon

Yesterday afternoon we headed west to an apple orchard. Two of Rob's classmates joined us, Sunny & Melissa and Melissa's boyfriend Josh. Evan brought his friend Olivia also. After 18 out of 19 days of rain, we definitely deserved the beautiful sunshine and crisp fall weather we received. We went to Homestead Orchards in Maple Plain and they had a fabulous selection of apples to pick in their orchard. We took a hayride to the back of the orchard where the best selection of apples were. We loved wandering through the numerous apple trees and eating the most delicious apples. Olivia and Evan loved running up and down the rows of trees. They also loved eating the apples. Isn't it great to see your kids eat and enjoy something that is good for them?! Even though both of their faces look like they are in disgust, they really each ate a whole apple and Olivia ate half of another.Melissa found the perfect apple that she just had to have so she climbed this tree to grab it!It was so nice to be outside after being indoors so much due to all the rainy weather. We also were able to feed goats and chickens and Olivia & Evan jumped in the Winnie the Pooh moon walk. Rob and I picked 16 pounds of apples so today I am making Morgan's caramel apple pie. Yummy!
