Introducing Lily Kate

Our baby girl finally decided to make her grand appearance on Tuesday, November 20! She weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. Yes, you read that right - 9 pounds 10 ounces!! Mom and baby are doing well. We came home from the hospital on Thanksgiving and our baby didn't have an official name! The birth certificate lady told us she would call us today to get the name and we debated until the minute the phone rang. Rob wanted Sadie Jane, but everyone told him that Sadie is a dog's name, so I put the kaibosh on that. We are happy to present Lily Kate. What a great Thanksgiving gift Lily was for our family!

Mom & Lily shortly after delivery
So here is Evan's first encounter with Lily. He acted as if nothing was strange at all. Rob brought him in and asked, "Who is that?" Evan said, "That's baby Lily" in a duh tone. Not too much later, Evan looked at my belly and said, "Raegan's in mommy's belly." Apparently he didn't understand that you still look 5 months pregnant after your give birth. He thought Raegan was in mommy's belly because that was one of the names we had suggested to him prior to Lily's birth, and since Lily was here, the remaining bulge by default had to be Raegan.

Rehearsed, but cute!

Looks just like Evan as a baby.

Precious....

Ditto....

Dad, Evan and Lily pose nicely.

Lily resting in between stomach crunches. This girl is so strong. Of course, you'd expect that from a sumo baby (Rob wrote this--Mandy would never say that).

Evan and Lily must have incredibly beautiful grandparents!
Thank you Mandy for going through all that to get us another granddaughter. And thank you Rob for doing whatever you did.
Keep up the good work.

Holy cuteness! Congratulations! She's adorable! Does she know about her arranged marriage yet? I already told our boys. They're going to duke it out over her in a few years.

What a beautiful family of four! You all look like you're in heaven. I love the name Lily, and it makes me laugh that you came down to the wire in choosing a name. I'm glad that you won Mandy. Can't wiat to see her in person.

She is a beautiful big baby. That is exactly how big Gavin was when he was born. I am glad to hear that everything is good. Can't wait to meet Lily!

Well, we felt badly that you only had 16 comments when we finally got to check the blog (been in St. George), so we needed to say "Congratulations Robbie, Mandy, and BIG BROTHER Evan! And congratulations to Lily Kate for arriving plump and CUTE!"
We just 'oohed and awed' at the photos, and of course, are extremely excited to see you in a few weeks! Love you all.

Wow...I thought Ammon was big, but Lily's got him beat by more than a pound! Good work, Mandy! She is beautiful. I'll have to let Haylie know that Ammon is bigger than both her boys combined...they'll have a good fight on their hands! Are you going home for Christmas? We need to get together. Congratulations, you guys. You do good work!!!

Congrats! I'm glad that everything went well. We actually went up to the cities last week, but I heard that you'd had Lily, so didn't bother you. I'll give you a little time, but then let's get together... PLEASE! I'm sure the boys would have a blast and I'd love to hold a newborn in my arms again! I hope you're doing well. Please let me know if I can help in anyway... REALLY. 507.226.2206
