This is what Evan's finger looked like tonight when Rob came home from school. About 10 minutes before Rob arrived Evan handed me something and I noticed his right thumb was swollen and red. Over the next 30 minutes it continued to swell. Rob was suppose to go to a bowling party for the orthodontic residents that was sponsored by a rep. He had come home to pick up Evan and take him. But by the look of Evan's thumb we decided Evan needed to be seen by a doctor tonight. Rob was a bit disappointed that he was going to miss the bowling gathering since last year Rob took first place and wanted to defend his title. But being the good dad he is, Rob took Evan to a pediatric urgent care clinic. We don't know what happened to Evan's thumb but it appeared infected so Evan was placed on an antibiotic. This is the first time Evan has been on an antibiotic! I know it is amazing since he is almost 3. This was also the first time that Evan had been to the doctor for an unscheduled visit. I have never had to take him in to the doctor for an illness or such. He has been such a healthy kid and we are so grateful for that. I want to thank Rob for taking such good care of our boy especially since he had exciting plans that he had to miss. Evan & Lily have the best dad and I have an amazing husband! We love you Dad/Rob!
