You Know You Live in Minnesota when.....

1- The bank marquee says 4 degrees at 4:00 pm (the "warmest" part of the day!)

2- No new snow has fallen in over 2 weeks but you still have close to a foot of snow. You can thank this to the temperature not getting above freezing since the last snow fall.

3- You have to bundle your kid up like this (see exhibit A below) so they don't lose an extremity.4- Your thermostat is set at 70 degrees but you are still cold (oh wait, maybe that is just our minimally-insulated-government-project-housing!)

5- It is so cold outside that if you stand inside by your windows or door you feel the cold, almost as if you are outside.

6- Everyone you see is wearing Uggs and it isn't for a fashion statement. It is so dang cold!!

7- A rare day comes along that the temperature is in the 20's and you feel like it is a heat-wave and don't need to wear your coat.

8- You don't so much mind the single digit temperatures in November and December. What you are really dreading is the negative temperatures for weeks in February.

9- You drive in downtown Minneapolis and it looks abandoned. Then you look up and see all the people who are usually walking on the streets up in the five miles of skyway. Nice and protected from the bitter cold.

10- Your eyelashes, eyebrows, and nose hairs freeze after being outside for a minute.

That just does not sound fun to me. I will now stop complaining that NC has dropped into the 30s for a few days.

Haha! That's funny. You are turning into a true Minnesotan family!! Don't you want to stick around after June?
