About a week ago I saw a darling picture my 3-year-old nephew, Taylor, had drawn of people. I was amazed! I didn't realize that a 3-year could do such a thing. Evan is the same age and it got me thinking, is Evan capable of drawing people? Evan has never been much into drawing or coloring but he is getting more into it now especially if stickers are involved. So yesterday Evan and I were making Valentines and Evan was scribbling all over them. I asked Evan to draw a person on Rob's valentine. I didn't give him any other instructions and I was very surprised at the outcome. I totally underestimated what my 3-year-old could draw. Since drawing that one person, Evan has probably drawn 50 over the last 24 hours! Here is a collage of about half of the pictures he has drawn.
He even woke up at 4 am and told Rob "I want to draw people". Evan thinks it is so cool to draw people and he is so proud of himself. It is nice to have found something that will keep him busy for an hour especially since it is 1 degree outside right now! Enjoy the masterpieces!This is a Family Portrait by Evan
Evan's trademark - stacking people on top of each other. He also has to name each one and has me write the name of the person next to each one.
Evan is also really into drawing people who are swimming. He tells me they are under the "water spout". I don't really understand but it all makes sense to him!

Evan is very talented. We have been working on self portraits (in school) and I think Evan might have passed some of my students abilities :) I love the stacking. Those people don't even need labels!
Wow! I haven't checked your blog in such a long time. It was so fun to see all of the updates. I love the blog about Evan laying down the rules to Rob! Tell Evan we think he is just great!
I love it Mandy. I have been wondering myself about Grant and his drawing abilities. It takes him about 5 seconds to color a picture. Usually just a scribble on the page. Maybe I need to take your approach. Evan is quite the artist. Tell him he is doing a great job!
