200th Post, Newborn Bunnies, & Crazy Hail Storm

This is my 200th post! Crazy that I have been doing this blogging thing for almost 2 years and posted 200 times. It has been a great way to stay in contact with family and friends. Though it is feeling a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with everyone's blogs since almost everybody has one now. But I love seeing pictures and reading what is going on in people's lives since we don't live by most of our family and friends. I have also used my blog as an informal journal and scrapbook. It is a great way to document our lives. I am STILL working on my blurb book for 2007 and am excited to see the finished product. That is if I can ever find the time to sit down and finish it.

It is very common to see rabbits, turtles, toads, geese, and ducks around our townhomes. A few days ago our neighbors found 3 newborn bunnies in their front yard and no mom in site. Though there was lots of fur around their yard so they are thinking that the mom might have died. So they took the 3 baby bunnies and fed and took care of them. Yesterday they were outside with the bunnies and Evan was loving them. It all reminded me a bit too much of Lennie from the book "Of Mice and Men".Evan just loved the bunnies so much that he wanted to squeeze them. Isn't this normal? Adults do this with babies, they are so cute and chubby you just want to squeeze them. Here are all 3 newborn bunnies. They are so cute and small! It was a beautiful morning and afternoon. Just perfect. Sunny and warm and then evening hit and this is what it looked like.

We had the biggest hail storm that I have ever experienced. The hail started quarter-sized and in the end was golf ball size. It was so loud and hail was bouncing everywhere. It seriously looked like a ping-pong war! It was pretty scary. We didn't have any damage from the hail but many people had windows broken, roofs damaged, and cars dented. Check out the videos at the end of this post.
Of course once the hail stopped Evan donned his rainboots and had to check out the scene.
Then Evan and all the kids in our townhomes played in the hail for over an hour. The amazing thing is that some of the hail was still there the next day and it had been a 65 degree day.

One of my friends is moving back to Minneapolis (she grew up there) and had just planted new plants at their new home when the hail storm came last weekend! She told me about it but I'm glad to see documentation!
