Evan's First Day of Preschool

This was Evan's reaction when we told him he was going to preschool today! Really Evan was just being a ham!
Today was Evan's first day of preschool. He was really excited to go up until this morning and then he told Rob that he didn't want to go. Well that was thankfully short lived and when I got home from work this morning Evan was ready to go "meet some friends to come play at Grandma Cindy's house". Evan's preschool has this great drop off method where the parents pull up and the teacher gets the child out of the car. So you don't have to park and haul in all of your kids. Though I was a bit worried about this method in the beginning since Evan isn't very comfortable with strangers. So I anticipated that the first few times I would be parking and taking Evan in myself. Well I was in for a pleasant surprise when I pulled up, the teacher opened the door and Evan got out without a fight. He looked a bit nervous, but I reassured him that it would be fun to go play with friends. I pulled away a bit amazed and almost in tears realizing that my little boy wasn't as dependent upon me as I thought.Evan loved his first day and told me all about his teacher Miss Marci and the new friends he met today - Edward, Emily, and Gabe-to-the-rescue! He said his favorite things he did today were play outside on the pirate ship, look through the binoculars, paint, and play with money. Evan came home singing lots of fun new songs. We are excited for the weeks to come!
