Another hot and humid day! I don't mean to be the cup-half- empty girl, but when it is 101 degrees and 100% humidity (okay not really but it feels like that to me!) I think I have some room to state my case, especially when it is so humid I have a hard time breathing. The heat index for today was 107 degrees!! That is incredible. Of course once again "record breaking". Thus,

today Evan and I went to the Minnesota Children's Museum with his friends Grant and Lauren and their mom Rachel so we could stay indoors and beat the heat. It was our first time there and we had a great time. It is huge! It has 4 floors and multiple different rooms, each with a theme. We first went to the Water Works area, where Evan raced wood boats down a water chute and moved ping-pong balls through a hydraulic maze (with some help!) and created the biggest bubbles possible. I think he would have been content just staying in this room the whole 2.5 hours we were there!! But there was so much more to see and do and
I wanted to see it! Some of the other rooms are World Works where Evan saw how light works and how to use machinery (cranes, conveyer belts), Earth World where he created thunderstorms and crawled through ant hills, Our World where Evan shopped at the Market, cooked at a restaurant, drove a bus, and was a rockstar on TV,

The Magic School Bus Exhibit, and Habitot where Evan climbed though and discovered four Minnesota habitats - the prairie, the pond, the forest, and the bluff caves. It is such a cool place for kids to go to discover how the world they live in works. I think we will be spending a lot of time there in the cold, winter months!

Evan, it looks like you are had a terrific time at the Childrens museum. Some time when I come to see you we will have to go there so you can show me all the cool things to see and do. I think I will have to wait until it is not so humid, sorry. I am excited that you will be here in 25 days! We will have so much fun! love, grandma (aka o-pear)
