Twins Game

"Hot and Humid! Record breaking weather!" Everywhere we live it just happens to be the year of record breaking weather: record breaking snowstorm of 2.5 feet in Boston, record breaking heat and humidity in Minnesota. Can't we just live somewhere that is 75 degrees all year round? Don't you just love how the weatherperson gets so excited when it is going to be a "record breaking day"?!

Tonight we went to the Twins vs Tigers baseball game at the Metrodome. I was a little bummed that we were going to a baseball game indoors (I just learned this week that the Metrodome's roof isn't retractable). But once I stepped outside tonight into the blanket of humidity and couldn't breathe, I was all for the indoor, air-conditioned baseball park!!

We had a great time at the game even though the Twins lost 6-8. We were shocked that at a sold-out game we hit no traffic! What a great way to get to and from a baseball game. After living in Boston for 4 years and having to plan our lives around Red Sox games because of the obscene traffic and parking situation, we just thought that was how all baseball venues were. But we were pleasantly surprised tonight when we crusied right into the city without any problems.

This was Evan's 2nd baseball game and he did really well. He was all geared up in his "Yankees Yuck" t-shirt and Red Sox hat. The Twins' fans didn't seem to mind that he didn't have any Twins attire on. A few people even commented on his shirt and agreed with it! Evan's favorite things to do at the game were to lean on the people in front of us to get a closer view, wave his arms crazily and clap when the crowd was excited, eat bites of dad's pizza and drink sips of Diet Coke.

We had a fun night together as a family which was much needed. Rob has been very busy with school. In his words, "school is kicking my trash" but in all seriousness Rob really is enjoying his program and finds all of his hardwork very rewarding. Hopefully the Twins can do without us until next year when we will go to the Twins vs Red Sox game!

What a great day!Evan is such a good kid, but we already knew that. We are worried about taking Mackay to a baseball game for the following fears: 1)he will get bored and tell us he wants to go home every 5 seconds 2)walking up and down the concrete steps at Fenway taking him to the bathroom countless times 3) being afraid of people around him yelling and in Boston often obscene remarks and bad language (now that he repeats everything he hears). Can't wait to see what happens next for the Taylors. Miss you! A. Jenkins
