Happy Fourth of July!! What a great day to spend with family and honor those who facilitated our country's independence and those who continue to fight for freedom! We spent the morning at our Ward's Independence Day Breakfast at Oak Hill Park and then let Evan cool off at the Splash Pad. Sorry no pictures. That afternoon we went to a BBQ at the Parsons' for McKenzie's 30th Birthday! Evan enjoyed throwing water balloons and his parents enjoyed the yummy food!
This year was the first year that we attempted going to fireworks with Evan and it was a huge success! Not only did Evan enjoy waiting for the fireworks by drinking Rob's Root Beer, but he loved watching the fireworks and enjoyed telling Rob and I what color they were. He thought they were a bit loud but it didn't seem to scare him off. The firework show our city put on was 30 minutes long and Evan was in a trance the whole time. By the time we were walking back to our car, Evan was exhausted and made Rob carry him the whole 1/2 mile back to the car. Evan fell asleep the minute we put him in his carseat. It was definitely a fun-filled, though exhausting day!!! Thanks to the Founding Fathers who sacrificed much so we can live in a free country. And thanks to all those in the military who sacrifice so much each day so we can continue to enjoy freedom!
