Minnehaha Falls

Yesterday we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and headed out to Minnehaha Park. It is a huge 193-acre park, which has a 53-foot waterfall, called Minnehaha Falls, located in it. One of the great things about Minnesota in the summer is there are so many great outdoor places to visit and they are all within 30 minutes or so of our house.Minnehaha Falls can be viewed from above or you can walk down numerous stairs and view the waterfall at eye level. Down below there is a dirt hiking trail that follows the river. It was really nice to hike around a bit and then we finished the outing off with a picnic under a huge tree. While we were eating there was a Native American gathering going on and we were able to enjoy their music and chanting.
