As many of you know, I am not a fan of "character gear" as I call it. I am the mean mom who won't let my child have Thomas the Tank Engine shoes or a Lightening McQueen shirt. But who could resist this smile? I couldn't! When Evan saw this Thomas "packpack" as he calls it, he was so excited! Plus look how cute it is on him! I feel like these pictures are of his first day of school (Kindergarten) with backpack on and all, but that won't be for another 3 years!

We were at Kohl's and we walked past a table with "character backpacks" and Evan stopped and pulled the Thomas one off. He thought it was so cool because it has a handle and wheels so he can pull the backpack around. He pulled it all around Kohl's, right up to the check out and ever so grown-up handed the backpack to the cashier so we could pay for it. Evan dragged the backpack out to the car and has kept it close by him ever since. He has slept with it twice and I always know when he is awake because I hear him dragging it down the stairs. Evan loves to talk about how his backpack is just like mom's suitcase. Evan keeps telling me that he is going to bring his backpack to the "airplaneport". I guess he will have to wait 4 months to do so, but he will probably be just as excited then as he is now!

Okay, that is so cute. I have similar feelings about "character gear" as you called it. Hadley has a little coin purse that she calls a pack pack too. Keep your guard up lady - it all starts with that one time you caved to an irresitable smile, and before you know it . . . :)
What a perfect backpack! Evan looks so grown up and ready for school. We miss you all and hope things are going well...especially with Rob!
Oh no! You succumbed to the character crap.
Totally worth it though! He looks so cute! The best part is that he sleeps with it too. Totally worth it, right?
That's so adorable! I love the top picture :)
