The final straw happened Monday when I received a note on my front door at 8:30 am stating that all cars needed to be moved from the parking lot from 9 am to 3 pm for the snow plow. Nice to get 30 minutes notice to move your car! Rob had already left for school so I was stuck with having to dig out the car and move it. Plus I have 2 children and it is single digits outside. Hmmm, real convenient! So when Lily was sleeping, I bundled up Evan and took him outside with me. I dug out the car and then went to move it but it wouldn't start. Great! All this work and I couldn't even move the car. When Rob got home from school there was a note on the car saying it needed to be moved within 24 hours or it would be towed. At this point Rob took everything out of his car and realized that if they tow it, great let them keep it! Then we wouldn't have to deal with it.
The next day Rob and I were both on the internet looking at charities to donate the car to or junkyards who would buy the car for parts. Then Rob had the great idea of calling the mechanic who has worked on the car since they sell used cars. The guy came and looked at the car yesterday and came back today to buy it! Yeah!! It was almost too easy. If only we could have gotten some decent money for the car, but I guess that would mean that the car needs to be "decent" itself and run! I know it would have been nice to donate the car to charity, but as students we need any money we can get.
I was so happy to watch the mechanic tow the car away! Though I think Evan is a bit sad since he liked the Accord and called it a "race car" since it was red. But since he is all boy, he did enjoy watching it being towed away. Here's to no more moving the Accord to a different parking spot just to please the landlord!! Hip, hip, hooray!!

Aw, I just bought an Accord! I used to drive a 1993 Civic--usually Hondas are such good cars. I'm sure you'll be back to a 2-car family in about a year or so once Rob gets a job! :)
