The Two Dreaded Words...

....POTTY TRAINING.

That is what we are doing around our house lately. I signed Evan up for preschool and it starts mid-August. He needs to be potty trained by then so I thought we better get on it. Truthfully I planned on the worst since Evan is a cute, stubborn thing, so it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, of course I would much rather be doing other things!
I came across this Parents Potty-Ready Checklist on my friend Mandy's blog. It gave me a good laugh. Just what you need when you are potty training. Check it out!

Good luck! potty training is the most frustrating and rewarding experience all at once.

Your post caused severe, painful flashbacks to last fall and my own experience potty training Ethan. I think I have post-traumatic stress disorder from it. I hope it goes well for you...ours was truly awful. The only positive thing I can say is that it's shortlived in the overall scheme of things. I tried and tried lots of bribes, promises, etc and nothing worked. Finally, out of desperation, I bought James and placed him, out of the wrapper, in the kitchen windowsill. That was all it took! Good luck!!!

I'm all caught up on your blog! I started at Lily's 4-month post. Enjoyed every word and picture. Good job, Mandy.
I LOVE that we are in the same stage at every turn with Evan and Taylor...
We can laugh together and, when it comes to potty training, cry together!
I've long thought it the worst part of parenting (we'll see how the teen years go). Hopefully both boys will be done soon, and we can laugh together again;)
