Winter or Spring?

We just can't tell if it is winter or spring here in Minnesota. This is what we woke up to on Saturday. Evan played in the snow with his snowboots and coat. By lunchtime the snow had melted.

Evan has been begging me for rainboots for about a month. They are sold out everywhere since it is so wet here. I thought of buying some in January when they first arrived in stores, but thought I would wait. Big mistake since after the first rainfall rainboots were no where to be found. One day I was talking to Rob's mom and Evan asked me to tell her that "the rainboots are all sold out". So of course the good grandma she is, she looked everywhere and finally found a pair in Evan's size. They arrived on Saturday and Evan LOVES them! They are cute froggy rainboots and Evan wore them all afternoon. So snowboots in the morning and rainboots in the afternoon. Is it winter or spring?
