9th on the 9th

Yesterday was our 9th Anniversary! 9 Years! I seriously can't believe that we have been married for 9 years. We have had a fabulous 9 years and hope for many more to come. Sorry about the quality of the picture, it is obviously a picture of a picture. The best I could do since we were married pre-digital era.

I am so grateful for Rob and the wonderful husband and father that he is. It is funny when I think back to when we got married and how "far" I thought we would come in life after 9 years of marriage. I imagined we would be settled in a house of our own, Rob with a booming practice and I would stay home with the kids (I thought 6 were in our future until I got pregnant with #1 and now I am surprised I actually have 2!). Even though we may not have come as "far" according to worldly standards, all of the struggles and adventures we have gone through have brought us closer together and made our marriage stronger. I would never trade that!

We kind of feel in survival mode since Rob graduated. We are just trying to make our lives work with his business and me working. Rob is such a hard working man and always puts his all into everything. I admire that. I know all of his work will pay off one day and then he can be the 4-day-a-week-working-orthodontist that he has always dreamed of being. But for now he can continue to work 6 long days plus watch the kids when I am at work or sleeping after working all night! What a great man I snatched up!

For our anniversary my mom offered to watch the kids and we went out with our great friends Lynn and Haylie, whose anniversary is the day after ours. We had dinner at Ruby River and then saw the movie Angels and Demons. It was a fabulous night out without children, where Rob and I could actually have a conversation and focus on each other! Happy 9th Rob! I love you!
