Quickened minds....

Here was my and Evan's conversation today at lunch after church. Evan just finished saying the prayer when he asked: "Dad, who is Heavenly Father?"
me: "He's my dad and your dad and mom's dad; he made us all."
Evan: "I thought Jesus made us."
me: "Jesus made our bodies, but Heavenly Father made our spirits."
Evan: "What's a spirit."
me: "Your spirit is inside of you."
Evan: "Oh. Can I have my chicken nuggets now?"

I just cracked up laughing. Here I was thinking we were about to have a deep gospel discussion about the physical nature of our spirits when it was trumped by chicken nuggets. Apparently deep gospel topics are easier to understand when you're 4.
