Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride

Rob and I went on the Antelope by Moonlight bike ride last night. We rode from the Antelope Island Marina to Garr Ranch. It started at 10 pm and is 22 miles round trip. Rob's parents have been going on this annual bike ride for years so this year Rob and I and his sister Steph and husband Brian decided to join them this year.

Here is our before picture. We sprayed ourselves like crazy with bug spray so we are nice and greasy. The bugs were insane. When we were driving to the parking lot it sounded like it was raining with all of the bugs hitting the car.
Brian and Steph's before picture. Stephanie is amazing. She had a baby 2 months ago and went on this 22 mile ride!! Go Stephanie, you Rock! Here we are at the halfway point at Garr Ranch. They had fruit and granola bars to help us refuel. While we were there life flight landed to pick up a lady who was injured so we hung around a bit longer because of the dust. Brian and Steph at the halfway point. Don't we all look better at the halfway point then in the beginning? Probably because we lost 5 pounds going up the big hills! We found Rob's parents and their friends, Rick and Maureen, at Garr Ranch. We chatted awhile, which is also why we stopped for an hour or so. We did it! We rode 22 miles and didn't walk our bikes at all! Look at the gross bugs on our car. When we got back to our car it was smothered in bugs.Brian and Steph at the finish line. I am seriously so impressed with Steph. I don't think I could have biked 22 miles with lots of big hills and not walked if I had a baby 2 months ago. Way to go!
We had a blast and are hoping to make it an annual tradition. We stopped at Maverik on the way home for Krispy Kreme donuts and chocolate milk. Just what you need after a good bike ride.
