Como Zoo

I have been wanting to take Evan to Como Zoo in St Paul since we moved here, but just never found the perfect day to go. Luckily playgroup decided to go there today so Evan and I jumped at the chance. It was overcast and sprinkled a little, but that was a good thing because it wasn't crowded. It is an older zoo where the animals are more in cages and less in exotic habitats. Nice for the children because they can see the animals better, not so nice for the animals. Evan loved the lion and tigers. He sat and stared at them until I pulled him away. Though that picture is of Evan amazed by the polar bear.

Sparky the Sea Lion puts on 2 shows a day. Of course this was on the agenda. We got to the show 15 minutes early so we could have good seats and it was worth the wait. The Sparky the Sea Lion show was a huge hit! Evan sat still for the entire 15 minutes. If only church consisted of a sea lion doing tricks!

At the end of the outing, we went on a carousel. The carousel is 90-years-old and is wood carved. It was very pretty for me to look at and Evan loved going around and around on the horse. When the carousel started to slow down, Evan said, "No, No, Uh-O". It was darling. We will definitely visit Como Zoo and the carousel again.

Ethan loves the carousel too, and any zoo. Wish we were there to go with you! We miss you!

I need to take my girls to the zoo. You're such a good mom! How 'bout you guys fly back here for a Hogle Zoo trip with our "play group"?
